Waris Ali Shah Public School is a co-educational day school where the students learn through a bilingual system of education. English is the main medium of instruction and Urdu is taught as a secondary language.
Curriculum Guidelines for the different levels of the school are
as follows:
Pre Primary up to Grade Three:
We follow the Early Childhood Education approach for teaching children
in the junior grades. The National ECE Curriculum designed by The Teachers
Resource Center (TRC) and adopted by the Ministry of Education, Government
of Pakistan in 2002, serves as the guideline.
Upper Primary (Grades 4&5) and the Middle School (Grades 6-8):
For teaching the Upper Primary and Middle School grades, we follow the
National Scheme of studies as prescribed by the Ministry of Education
,Government of Pakistan..
Secondary School (Grades 9&10):
The Syllabus guidelines prepared by the Aga Khan University Examination
Board based on the National Scheme of studies are used for instructions
at this level. Students choose between the General or Science stream
of education. Their progress is assessed through course work and examinations
on an annual basis. At the end of Grade Ten, after clearing the Final
Board Examinations, students are awarded the Secondary School Certificate (SSC).
Higher Secondary School:
Grades Ninth and Tenth lead students to two years of Intermediate studies
at an Intermediate Level High School before being admitted to a college.
This gives them the opportunity to study their chosen discipline of
knowledge in science, humanities or commerce. After clearing the exams
in grades Eleven and Twelve students can get their Higher Secondary School
Certificate (HSC).
